Collaborative Discussion & Support Webinar: Feb 2023
Reflecting upon recent events and ongoing reported incidents of racism against BAME students across the UK, discussions centred on strategies for tackling racism in UK education are more prevalent than ever.
To lend from Barack Obama, ‘change will not come if we wait for some other person or if we wait for some other time’. It is time to tackle racism within UK Education. How can we each support, encourage and be an active part of the change we all seek?

INCONVERSATION WITH BEECHEN CLIFF SCHOOL: DR MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY

We were invited to contribute our work to aid delivery of inclusive learning to students at Beechen Cliff School. To mark MLK Day 2023, Inconversation in Education created a bespoke digital learning resource which explored Dr Martin Luther King Jr, his life, impact and influence on both the US and UK civil rights movements.
Dr Martin Luther King Jr dedicated and gave his life to the civil rights movement and was a driving force in campaigning for and bringing about change It is important that we extend conversations about Dr Martin Luther King JR outside of solely MLK Day. INCONVERSATION WITH NEW CITY COLLEGE LONDON
April 2022
A live and interactive online event, which explored strategies to support the creation of Highly Inclusive FE Curriculum. Designed by INCONVERSATION in Education in consultation with curriculum leads at New Cross College, this bespoke CPD session was delivered live to 650 staff members from curriculum teams based across the FE College’s Hackney and Havering campuses.
Session aims/objectives included:
Exploring highly inclusive educational practice and strategies for embedding truly inclusive curriculum, which reflect contemporary British values, considers the impact of racism and the influence of colonial history on society.
Raising awareness of anti-racist pedagogy and the use of positive language.
Supporting the development of strategies for the effective embedding of pedagogy and practices to create truly inclusive FE curriculum.
